Can't Find Your Business on RevuKit? Here's How to Fix It
If your business isn't showing up when you search on RevuKit, the fix is almost always the same: finish setting up your Google Business Profile. Here's exactly what you need to do.
RevuKit searches Google's database of businesses to find yours. Specifically, it searches for establishments β places that Google recognises as a business or point of interest.
If your business isn't showing up, it almost always means Google doesn't have your business properly listed as an establishment yet. The fix is to set up your Google Business Profile.
Why This Happens
Google maintains a database of businesses worldwide. When you search on RevuKit, we query this database for establishments matching your search.
If you haven't created a Google Business Profile, your business may not be in this database at all β or Google may not have enough information to categorise it as a business. Either way, it won't appear in search.
Setting up a Google Business Profile is free and takes about 10 minutes (plus a few days for Google to verify you). It's also how you manage your business on Google Maps, Google Search, and any tool that uses Google's business data β including RevuKit.
How to Set Up Your Google Business Profile
1. Create or Claim Your Profile
- Go to business.google.com/create
- Click Manage now and sign in with your Google account
- Search for your business name β if Google already has it listed, claim it
- If it doesn't exist yet, create a new listing
Google's guide: Create a Business Profile on Google.
2. Complete Your Business Information
Fill in everything Google asks for:
| Field | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Business name | Must match what customers search for |
| Category | Tells Google what type of establishment you are |
| Address (or service area) | Required for Google to place you on the map |
| Phone number | Part of your public listing |
| Website | Links your web presence to your profile |
| Business hours | Completes your listing |
The more complete your profile, the more confidently Google can list you as an establishment.
3. Verify Your Business
Verification proves to Google that you own or manage the business. Google will offer one or more methods:
- Postcard β mailed to your business address (3β5 days)
- Phone β automated call or text with a code
- Email β verification code to your business email
- Video β short video of your business location
Not all methods are available for every business. Follow the prompts at business.google.com.
Google's guide: Verify your business on Google.
4. Get at Least One Google Review
Your business can appear in search without reviews, but RevuKit needs at least one review to display a widget. Here's how to get your first:
- Find your business on Google Maps
- Click Share and copy the link
- Send it to a recent customer and ask for an honest review
You can also get a direct review link from your Google Business Profile dashboard under Get more reviews.
5. Wait for Google to Index Your Business
After setup, there's a delay before your business appears in Google's autocomplete index:
- Your business may show on Google Maps within a few days
- Autocomplete (which RevuKit uses) runs on a separate index and can take a few days to a few weeks to update
- This is a Google-side delay β not something RevuKit can control
If your business appears on Google Maps but not on RevuKit yet, try again in a day or two.
6. Connect on RevuKit
Go to revukit.com/onboarding/start and search for your business.
Search tips:
- Use your exact Google Business Profile name β not a nickname or abbreviation
- Add your city if you have a common name (e.g., "Smith Dental Portland")
- For multiple locations, include the street or neighbourhood
Other Possible Issues
Service-Area Businesses
Businesses without a physical storefront (plumbers, cleaners, mobile services) can be harder to find because they lack a pinned location on Google Maps. Make sure your profile is complete and search using your exact business name plus your city.
Google's guide: Service-area business settings.
Suspended Profiles
Google may suspend profiles that violate their guidelines. Check business.google.com for any suspension notices.
- Google's business representation guidelines
- Google's reinstatement process
- Common reasons: P.O. box address, keyword-stuffed business name, virtual office
Name Mismatches
RevuKit's search matches your exact Google Business Profile name:
| What you're searching | What Google has |
|---|---|
| "Joe's Coffee" | "Joe's Coffee Bar & Roastery" |
| "Dr. Smith Dental" | "Smith Family Dentistry" |
| "ABC Corp" | "ABC Corporation LLC" |
Check your exact name at Google Maps and use that.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why can't I find my business on RevuKit?
RevuKit searches Google's database of businesses. If your business doesn't have a Google Business Profile, or your profile isn't fully set up, Google won't have it listed as a business β and RevuKit won't be able to find it. The fix is to create and complete your Google Business Profile at business.google.com.
Do I need a Google Business Profile to use RevuKit?
Yes. RevuKit can only find businesses that Google recognises as an establishment. The way to make sure Google knows your business exists is to set up a Google Business Profile at business.google.com. It's free.
Can I use RevuKit if my business has no Google reviews?
Your business can appear in search without reviews, but you'll need at least one Google review for RevuKit to have something to display in a widget.
How do I verify my Google Business Profile?
Go to business.google.com, select your business, and follow Google's verification prompts. Methods include postcard, phone, email, or video β it depends on your business type and location. Verification usually takes a few days.
My business shows on Google Maps but not on RevuKit β why?
Google Places Autocomplete (which RevuKit uses) runs on a separate index from Google Maps search. There can be a lag of a few days to a few weeks between a business appearing on Maps and appearing in autocomplete. If you can find your business on Google Maps, try RevuKit again in a few days.
Can I use RevuKit with a service-area business?
Yes, but service-area businesses without a physical address can be harder to find in autocomplete. Try searching your exact business name with your city.
How long until a new business shows up?
After setting up your Google Business Profile, it can take a few days to a few weeks for Google to index your business in autocomplete. If your business appears on Google Maps but not on RevuKit, check back in a few days.
What does Google Business Profile setup involve?
Creating a profile at business.google.com, adding your business name, category, address or service area, phone number, website, and business hours, then completing Google's verification process. The whole thing takes about 10 minutes plus a few days for verification.
